In this lesson, I鈥檒l be talking about some confusing English words – HOMONYMS – words that sound the same but are spelled differently and have different meanings.

Words like this:
raw & roar
bare & bear
there & their & they’re
hear & here
flour & flower
which & witch
assistants & assistance

Confusing, huh?

They are especially important when you are writing in English. When you are speaking, it doesn鈥檛 really matter, does it? Because they sound exactly the same!! But as soon as you write it down鈥 that鈥檚 where you鈥檒l run into trouble! Especially, if you鈥檙e sitting an exam, writing an essay or an important email!

If you are sitting an IELTS or TOEFL test, mistakes like this, where you confuse two English words can reduce your score. Check out the tool I recommend to help you improve your English Grammar and vocabulary: Grammarly
