    Oh, yes it would. Actually the video doesn't make sence. Why?Because you only use "du", if you know the person. But if you knew the person, you propably would know, if he or she speaks english. As tourist you're better of asking "Sprechen Sie Englisch?"

  3. I took German in college a while ago and we didn't learn the informal "du" until after we have nearly mastered the formal "Sie". If I'm a tourist in Germany, would it be more appropriate for me to say, "Sprechen Sie Englisch?"
