A nursery which trialled a no-toys rule for a month to see what effect it has on the children said the experiment had been a great success.
lllminster Avenue Nursery School in Bristol (UK) swapped plastic toys for cardboard, tins and other everyday items.
It says the move challenged how children at the nursery play.

nursery – place where very young children and babies are cared for while their parents work
imagination – ability to think in creative ways
dexterity – ability to use the hands to perform difficult tasks skilfully
deprive – take something from someone; prevent them from having something
gender – behaviour, characteristics and roles societies associate with men or women
